All College Hike

Hello! ~(^-^)~ Today I went to the All College Hike at Durley Camp with my friends Kat, John, Ashley, Jessy, Tiffany, and Gabby. The hike started at 9:30 AM and ended around 2:30 PM.

The lake was very beautiful and I think the weather was perfect (though others may disagree with me).

I found the event to be peaceful and fun. I didn't really participate in any of the messy games (because just no), but I did try the gummy bear toss. I also enjoyed shooting hoops and going out on the paddle boat. I will probably attend the hike again next year; it was a fun time.

Greetings! And also instructions!

Welcome to our Event Scrap-blog!  Rather than making a scrapbook, on this site you'll, over the course of the semester, post various events you attended and share your experiences of them.  We'll all be able to see what we've been up to!  [So keep it clean...as of course you would...]  So here's the instructions (which can also be found on D2L):

1) You are required to attend FIVE (5) of the following seven (7) events on campus this semester:
Art Show
Athletic event (besides one you may be participating in)
Club, student government meeting or cultural event
Concert or recital
Symposium or Guest lecturer (besides those who come to your regular classes)
Theatre production
Christian church service (not including Vespers and Chapel)
Before you attend an event, think about how you can incorporate physical fitness into the event (e.g., walk to the event, stand instead of sit while at the event, tighten your abdominal muscles while sitting, etc.). While at the event, implement the physical fitness activity you thought of! Be creative, but do not do anything inappropriate (e.g., do not stand up in the middle of church service and begin doing jumping jacks, etc.).

2) Additionally, you will blog about each event you attend. You will receive an invitation to contribute to ‘COR 101 Scrapblog Fall 2014’ (here).

3) Each blog post should include the following –

·      A picture of at least one artifact for each event (a ticket, program, etc.)
·      A picture of yourself at the event (you can be holding the artifact)
·      The name of the event
·      Where and at what time the event took place
·      Names of the people with whom you attended
·      A paragraph description of the event (at least 150 words) that includes this information:
o   What was the environment like?
o   What was the event like?  (exciting, boring, relaxing, obnoxious, memorable – use your arsenal of descriptors)
o   Did the event go as you expected?
o   Did you enjoy it?  What did you enjoy and what did you not enjoy?
o   How did you incorporate physical fitness into the event?
o   Would you likely attend something like this again?

You are also encouraged to blog about your service experiences. If you choose to blog about your service experiences, please begin the post with ‘SERVICE’ in all caps, then follow the guidelines listed above to write about your experience. Note: These service experiences do not count towards fulfilling the 5 event requirement for this Event Scrapblog assignment; however, each service experience you blog about (following the blog post guidelines above) will earn you 3 extra credit points. Woohoo!

4) There are two Event Scrapblog Checkpoints during the semester (check the syllabus for the dates). At Checkpoint 1, you should have attended at least two (2) events and blogged about each one. At Checkpoint 2, you should have attended at least one (1) more event (for a total of 3 events) and have blogged about it. Each Checkpoint is worth 25 points.
