So a long time ago, I went on an all college hike. It was very enjoyable because I went with my homedawgs from Janssen 2nd floor. The environment was pretty exciting, but it went down hill because it was a long walk. I got really bored, so I started to mess around with people and then I got tired, so I quit doing that. I expected that it would get boring and I was going to regret that long walk right before practice. I felt that if I did not have to worry about practice afterwords, that I would have enjoyed it more. Other people seemed to be really enjoying it, and when I found a tennis ball that I could throw at people. I really enjoyed pegging people and persuading them that it was someone else. I would succeed in convincing them and I would sit back and relax as I watched them get mad at the other person.
Physically, it was not that hard. (I did walk off the Buffalo Meltdowns that I had earlier). While it was a nice walk that did burn calories, it was not a challenge after I had just gotten done with football camp. I honestly want to do something like that again after I am done with football. I honestly love long walks, and if I did not have anything hanging over me to do, I would probably really enjoy it.

While I was there, I went to the job fair, and I almost got a job. Unfortunately, due to my football schedule, I was not able to get this job. It seemed like a great opportunity, and a guy like me needs a job, bummer.

GC Highschool Football Game

Me and some soccer friends at the Greenville High School football game to support a COR 401 class, with brining the high school and college community's together.
On September 20, I attended Paws in the Park with my Fiance, which was run by the Humane Society. To start off this event, there was a doggie parade. When the parade was over, people headed back to Patriots park for the remainder of the event. There were booths that had a groomer who trimmed the dogs nails. The groomer also stenciled paint onto the dogs. To help raise money for the Humane Society, Petland and Petsmart hosted a silent auction that included products for dogs. In order to make the event more fun, the Humane Society hosted competitions for the dog who could sit, lay, and had the best trick. The dog that won the contest would receive a ribbon. The two main attractions of the day were the search and rescue dogs from the police department who ran a mock search rescue and the Pitbull puppies that the Humane Society brought to the event. I liked the event because the environment was fun and everyone was so proud and happy. I wil be attending Paws in the Park again next year.

Southern Baptist Church

On August 31, I attended a service at the Southern Baptist Church in Greenville. The service started at 10:30 a.m. and was about an hour and a half long. I of course attended with my Fiance. The environment was extremely rambunctious and chaotic. The church is a family church so everyone is very comfortable with each other and it was not very professional. People would randomly shout out and have full conversations with the priest in the middle of the service, the kids ran around and hid under the tables and didn't really respect anything in the church and they had their dog in the church, he barked a lot. I would have to say the event all-in-all was actually pretty fun, entertaining, and helpful. The event was far from what I expected, but I did enjoy it. Unfortunately, I would not attend this specific church again because I prefer a more formal setting to worship.

Homecoming Dance

I went to the homecoming dance with some friends after having spent the entire day with our "little sisters" from the simple room. We missed supper in the Union but we were able to make our own dinner. After supper we got ready and went to the football field altogether and all danced the night away. We had such a great time. We also enjoyed simply getting dressed up.

Vespers with my Dad

The Thursday before my birthday, my dad came to experience Vespers. He was really excited after hearing all of the good things I had to say about it. He was not disappointed after seeing it for himself. The speaker did a stupendous job, as did the worship band and God was surely moving in that place. I was just glad my dad was able to come and see what I am involved in. I learned that dad is not very good when it comes to taking selfies after taking this picture.

Football and Friends

When I attend sporting events, it is usually just to socialize. I attended a football game with four other friends. We were very cold but all had a good time. We occasionally would get up to walk around so we could warm up. The important aspect to the football games is never the actual game occurring to me when I attend, it is who I get the opportunity to spend time with.

Homecoming Choir Concert

The Choir had a Homecoming concert on the Friday before the game and dance. I have many friends in choir and do not get to hear their talents very often. I enjoyed listening to the music. It is not what I would normally listen to but it was definitely fun. I attended the concert with a few friends after attending the Agape Scholar's open mic night at Adam Bros.

Family Fun Day

Family Day fell on my birthday this year and my family came for the combination of the two. My younger brothers thought it was cool to see my room and explore campus. My youngest brother enjoyed climbing up onto my lofted bed. My older brother and his wife also came. I was surprised to see them but I was just as excited. My parents were really excited to see me on my birthday because we originally thought I would be alone on that day. After attending the Football game that the Panthers won, my family all went to a campgrounds about a half hour away to go camping. The picture includes all of my family. From left to right: Mark (my dad), Joseph (my second to youngest brother), me, Kim (my mom), Abram (my youngest brother), Brittany (my sister-in-law), and Jordan (my older brother).

Artwalk

I got the opportunity to attend the Artwalk in Greenville. I went with my roommate and met up with a few friends after arriving. We took our time admiring some of the art. It was different from the different festivities of the towns I have lived in. It was very calm. I listened the band play for a bit and thought it was so awesome to watch some people dance to the music. I really liked the chalk work on the roads.

Homecoming Parade

SO!
On Saturday, I was in THEE Parade for homecoming!!

I sat on the volleyball "float" I air quote because it was a trailer with bails of hay on them, we through candy and little tiny volleyballs to the crowd, and I may or may not have eaten my weight in smarties.

So here are a few delightful pictures!

Im sitting next to Madi "Maddog" Moran, she is to my right, and Ellen Lueking is to my left. They both are absolutyl hilarious. Maddog is a DS/Libero (DS= Defensive Specialist) and Ellen is the Varsity setter! So of course I was honored.

The girl with the goober looking face throwing the ball is my roommate/bestfriend. Her name is Leah Janes, better known as Goose.
I have known her since I was born and we have gone through all our schooling together, and I am so incredibly blessed to have her here with me!!

So that was my Saturday, a long ride, on really uncomfortable bails of hay. Also, about half way through the ride, I seriously regretted eating all of those smarties :(

It seems so long ago that I attended the All College Hike.  I ran the entire course and saw places of Greenville that I never new existed.  It was also fun rowing boats at Durley Camp.  It was a pretty good experience.

I was able to go and sort clothes on October 19, 2014, at East St. Louis.  There were only sixteen of us but we did some great work for the community.

Artwalk!

A few weeks ago I went to the Artwalk in downtown Greenville with my friends John, Kat, Jessy, Ashley, and Tiffany. I was enthralled by all of the art, especially the chalk art.

The atmosphere was festive, and it was a lot of fun to walk around and look at all of the booths; it reminded me of the anime convention I went to during the summer. I didn't buy any art for my wall, but I got a henna tattoo!

At dusk there was a poetry reading. I missed most of it, but I was able to catch the end. John and Kat both read their poetry there, and it was beautiful.

At the end of the night there were bands playing in the street. There were kids playing some kind of king of the hill game (without a hill) on the grass. Some vendors were still selling things, but some were packing up. I felt that aesthetically it was a perfect picture of the an American summer night. I definitely look forward to next year's Artwalk.
